Milan, a global hub for fashion, design, and finance, is located in northern Italy. It is home to iconic landmarks such as the Gothic-style cathedral, the Duomo di Milano, the historic Sforza Castle, and the iconic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping arcade.
Milan's well-connected road network makes it convenient to explore the surrounding Lombardy region. Just a short drive from the city are scenic lakes such as Como and Garda, the beautiful vineyards of Franciacorta, small villages, and the majestic Italian Alps, all waiting to be explored.
Milan Linate Airport (LIN) is just 7 kilometres from Milan city centre. It is a smaller airport, primarily serving domestic and short-haul international flights. Car rental desks are located within the Arrivals Area of the terminal. Upon exiting the arrivals gate on the ground floor, follow the signs for ‘Rent-a-Car’ or ‘Autonoleggi’ to reach the rental counters.
Drop-offs: For vehicle returns, follow the ‘Car Return’ signs as you approach the airport.
Payment: A credit card is typically required for both payment and the security deposit. Some companies may also accept debit cards under certain conditions.
Vehicle recommendation: For Milan and the Lombardy region, a compact or mid-size car such as the Peugeot 308 or BMW 1 Series is ideal. Milan's city centre has narrow streets and heavy traffic, so a smaller vehicle will be more manoeuvrable and easier to park. A mid-size car offers added comfort for longer trips to explore the scenic Lombardy countryside or nearby lakes, without compromising on fuel efficiency. Additionally, if you plan to visit mountainous areas, consider a car with higher ground clearance, such as the Toyota RAV4 or Kia Sportage, for better handling on winding, uneven roads.
