Traveling as a larger group around San Francisco is straightforward in the Chevrolet Tahoe. Seven seats and a large trunk suit big families covering the city and the wider Bay Area together. The Tahoe's spacious cabin helps keep everyone comfortable on longer outings.
Fisherman's Wharf
Fisherman's Wharf is San Francisco's working fishing waterfront, now also a dining and entertainment district extending from Pier 39 through Pier 45 and Hyde Street Pier. Sea lions began arriving at Pier 39 in late 1989. Viewing them is free, although their numbers vary throughout the year. The Tahoe's trunk holds gear for the whole group, with room left over for any shopping along the way.
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk opened in 1907 and includes the Giant Dipper, a 1924 wooden roller coaster recognized as a U.S. National Historic Landmark. The broad beach sits directly beside the amusement park, making it easy to combine the rides with time at the beach. The Tahoe carries the whole family comfortably on the drive south, with enough room for everyone's beach gear.
Monterey Bay Aquarium
The Monterey Bay Aquarium on Cannery Row is a major aquarium and marine conservation organization. Exhibits include the Kelp Forest, Open Sea and sea otters, alongside the aquarium's conservation and research work.
Highway 1 passes through the Tom Lantos Tunnels beneath Montara Mountain, bypassing Devil's Slide before continuing toward Montara and Moss Beach. Beyond the tunnels, sections of the road offer views of the Pacific. The Tahoe provides a comfortable drive along this coastal route.
