The Chevrolet Suburban offers ample space for groups traveling together around San Francisco. A large trunk and roomy cabin suit families and larger groups carrying plenty of luggage and gear. Its three-row cabin is well suited to longer trips with several passengers.

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk opened in 1907 and houses the Giant Dipper, a 1924 wooden roller coaster recognized as a National Historic Landmark. A wide sandy beach beside the Boardwalk faces Monterey Bay. The Suburban's large trunk can accommodate beach gear, although the available space depends on the seating configuration.

Fisherman's Wharf

Fisherman's Wharf developed from a working waterfront and is now also a dining and entertainment district extending from Ghirardelli Square to Pier 39. California sea lions began gathering at Pier 39's K-Dock in October 1989. They can be viewed free of charge, although their numbers vary throughout the year. The Suburban has room for the group's bags during a day spent exploring the waterfront.

Exploratorium

The Exploratorium at Pier 15 is a hands-on science museum with more than 650 interactive exhibits exploring science, art and human perception. The Tactile Dome, a pitch-dark crawl-through space navigated by touch, requires a separate ticket and reservation. A nearby parking garage is more practical than relying on on-street parking when driving the Suburban.

Highway 1 passes through the Tom Lantos Tunnels beneath Montara Mountain, bypassing Devil's Slide, before emerging near Montara. The road continues south through Montara and Moss Beach toward Half Moon Bay, with ocean views along stretches of the route. Drivers should follow posted limits and check current road conditions before setting out.
